The Spanish national team returns to training after winning the World Cup, and Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain draw in the Women's Champions League.

The Spanish national football team returned to training at the Las Rozas complex on Tuesday, amid a great festive atmosphere after the team won the World Cup title.

The first open training session for the world champions witnessed a large crowd turnout, as dozens of fans gathered hours before the doors of the Las Rozas complex opened, despite the high temperatures.

According to the website of the Spanish newspaper "Marca", Lamine Yamal's shirt remained the most popular among Spanish fans, as the player with the number 19 became a global phenomenon, after winning the World Cup in his first participation in the tournament, and before that the European Nations Cup in his first appearance in the competition.

All 26 players summoned by coach Luis de la Fuente, in addition to the coach himself, received a warm reception from the fans, while Ferran Torres was one of the most prominent names that the fans cheered for before the players arrived on the field.

Torres has a special place among the Spanish fans, after he scored the goal that gave Spain the World Cup title for the second time, when he scored against Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, making his name associated in the fans’ memories with the name of Andres Iniesta, the scorer of the goal that won the World Cup in 2010.

21 world champion players participated in the training, along with five new players: Josep Martinez, Sergio Rico, Diane Huysen, Fermin Lopez and Roberto Fernandez, amid loud cheers from about two thousand fans who were allowed to attend the training.

Before the start of training, the players held an honorary ceremony to celebrate the renewal of the contracts of the entire technical staff, amid a fun atmosphere and the cheers of the fans.

Spain's Real Madrid and France's Paris Saint-Germain tied 1-1 on Tuesday, in the first round of the group stage of the Women's Champions League.

Swedish Sarah Schroeder scored an early goal for Real Madrid, which came in the second minute, while Paris Saint-Germain equalized through its player, Sakina Karchaoui, in the 74th minute, from a penalty kick.

Each team scored a point, while Real Madrid will play the next round on the first of October (October), with Manchester City of England at the latter’s stadium, while Paris Saint-Germain will receive its Belgian guest, Oud Heverle Leuven.

The English team Arsenal also defeated its Danish guest, Kweh, with a score of 1-0.

Mariona Caldente scored the only goal of the match from a penalty kick in the third minute of stoppage time in the second half, giving the English team the first 3 points.

Arsenal had won the title of the previous edition of the Champions League, when it defeated Barcelona of Spain 1-0 in the final match, while it exited the previous tournament in the semi-finals against Lyon of France, who also lost to Barcelona in the final match.

In the next round, Arsenal will visit Paris FC, while Kouyeh will welcome his Swiss counterpart, Servet Chenoy.

In another match, the Portuguese team Benfica defeated its Italian host Juventus with a score of 2/1.

The Norwegian scored both goals for Benfica, the first coming in the 40th minute via a penalty kick, and she added the second in the 61st minute.

As for Juventus' only goal, it was scored by Spanish player Alba Redondo in the 86th minute.

Benfica currently leads the overall standings with 3 points on goal difference, ahead of Italian Inter Milan, which previously defeated Sweden's Haken.

Juventus will play in the second round on September 30th with Sweden's Haken at the latter's stadium, while Benfica will host Bayern Munich on the same day.

Nicolo Trisoldi, the Belgian Club Brugge striker, confirmed that he has not yet decided whether he wants to represent Italy or Germany at the senior national team level, but he revealed that the final decision will most likely be made in the summer of 2027.

Trisoldi (22 years old) was born in the Italian city of Cagliari, but moved to Germany as a teenager, and has since represented Germany at the level of the U-19 and U-21 national teams.

The player has already scored five goals during nine participations in various competitions for the 2026/2027 season, including a goal in the Champions League against the English team Aston Villa.

There were calls in Italy for the young player to be included in Mancini’s squad in preparation for the European Nations League matches against Belgium, Turkey and France in September and October, as many other players with dual nationality were called up to block the interest of other teams in including them, including the likes of Honest Ahanor, Eddy Kouadio, Issa Doumbia and Mohamed Ali Zuma.

However, Trisoldi was ultimately not named in Mancini's squad for the international break, and will instead continue to play for the German Under-21 national team for the time being.

Speaking to Sky in Germany, Tresoldi confirmed his desire to continue playing with the German U-21 team until the end of the European Championship this summer. He also admitted that he is still 50 percent to 50 percent confused about his final decision on whether he will represent Germany or Italy in the future.

Trisoldi told Sky: “My heart is still divided in two. Both countries mean a lot to me.”

He added: “I wear the German shirt with pride, and I love being here. “I still want to participate in the European Championships, and then we will see how things go.”
