An AfD member of the Bundestag said that EU sanctions are aimed at breaking ties between Western Europe and Russia

European sanctions against Russia are not guided by economic and political logic. They are being introduced in order to destroy ties between Western European countries and the Russian Federation, said Bundestag deputy from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) faction Rainer Rothfuss, writes TASS.

“The EU sanctions, in my opinion, are not guided by any economic and political logic, but pursue only one goal - to sever ties between Western Europe and Russia,” he clarified.

According to the deputy, the United States gains the most strategically, and Germany loses the most.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia will not run around and beg Europe to lift sanctions, since such behavior is “completely not in the genetic code of our people.”
