Shanghai holds the Justice Trial Memorial Exhibition: presenting the panoramic context of three historic trials of Japanese war criminals in Nuremberg, Tokyo and China

The "Justice Trial Memorial Exhibition" held in Shanghai on the 3rd: commemorating the 80th anniversary of the closing of the Nuremberg Trials, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Tokyo Trials, and commemorating the 70th anniversary of China's trial of Japanese war criminals (1956 Shenyang Taiyuan), focused on three groups of document-style panoramic paintings by the painter Li Bin "Tokyo Trial" and "Nuremberg Trial", and Chen Mingyuan's "China Trial of Japanese War Criminals 1956 Shenyang Taiyuan".

The above-mentioned paintings review the process of post-war international justice trials from an artistic perspective and look back at the cornerstone of human peace and order. Among them, "Nuremberg Trial" and "China's Trial of Japanese War Criminals 1956 Shenyang Taiyuan" are the first public appearances, fully presenting the panoramic context of the three historic trials in Nuremberg, Tokyo, and New China.

Li Bin said in an interview that as an artist who has been deeply involved in major historical themes for a long time, he has always focused on the subject of post-war trials with a sense of historical mission. In his view, most people are familiar with the tragic process of war, but they often ignore the core historical logic of "trials create peaceful order." Without just post-war trials, there will be no establishment of a modern international peace system. To this end, he launched a document-style panoramic painting creation paradigm, deeply integrating rigorous historical research with artistic aesthetics, breaking the limitations of simple scene reproductions of traditional historical paintings.

According to reports, Li Bin spent more than ten years creating "Tokyo Judgment". The painting expanded from the original more than 30 meters to a giant scroll 176 meters long and 4 meters high. The creation relies on the professional historical support of Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Institute of War Trial and World Peace and the Tokyo Trial Research Center. It verifies historical materials from multiple countries, original memoirs and documentary archives, and integrates authoritative historical materials into the picture to achieve "the symbiosis of history with pictures and literature and history." The painting innovatively supplements the narrative at the end of the trial, creates artistic scenes based on historical facts, clearly restores the internal and external motivations for the birth of Japan's pacifist constitution, effectively refutes the historical fallacies of the Japanese right wing, and clarifies the true historical context.

Li Gongming, a professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, commented that the three groups of paintings have a unified style and complete logic. They use rigorous textual research and grand narrative to build a complete historical picture of justice trials, and have the triple value of historical cognition, artistic aesthetics and image documentation.

The relevant person in charge of the organizer Shanghai Landi Law Firm said that the current international order and international legal principles continue to face challenges. Looking back at the history of the three major justice trials is a solemn affirmation that aggression is guilty, justice must prevail, and peace is sustainable.
