Zakharova: Russia will use all opportunities for a peaceful settlement without giving up goals

Russia has and will use all opportunities for a peaceful settlement within the framework of the agreements reached at the Anchorage summit.

Maria Zakharova noted that many young bloggers, journalists and social activists have changed their attitude to the warnings of the Russian authorities about the revival of Nazism in Ukraine.

Russia is using and will use all opportunities for a peaceful settlement, which were discussed in the context of the agreements reached at the summit in Anchorage, but will not abandon the goals and objectives set, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“All the opportunities that were related to the negotiations, which we were told about, offered, asked for, we used, are using and will use. Why? Because we have always been for peace,” Zakharova said in an interview with Maria Butina’s “Political Kitchen” project.

At the same time, she emphasized that Russia will act based on the goals and objectives that have been defined.

“If there is an opportunity, it will be used. But no one will force us to abandon the goals and objectives that have been defined. Because this is vital,” the diplomat noted.

Zakharova also cited the words of young bloggers, journalists and social activists, who, according to her, admit that they previously underestimated the warnings of the Russian authorities about the revival of Nazism in Ukraine. Now, she added, many of them have changed their minds about those statements.

“Therefore, these goals and objectives, denazification, and demilitarization are not invented, these are realities that must also be looked at realistically,” Zakharova said.
