Iranian Parliament Speaker: “Strikes against US bases are just the beginning… the rules of the game have changed.”

“You should know that the rules of the game have changed… Attacking U.S. bases is just the beginning.”

(Cairo = Yonhap News) Correspondent Kim Sang-hoon = Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who has been leading the end-of-war negotiations with Iran, said on the 6th (local time) that "the era of proportional response is over" regarding the armed conflict with the United States, and strongly warned, "Any act that violates Iran's interests and security will be followed by 'faster, heavier, and more painful' retaliation."

According to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency, Chairman Ghalibaf made this statement in a pre-parliamentary speech that day, referring to recent military operations targeting US military bases.

“The recent blows we have inflicted on the invaders' bases are only the beginning,” he said. “If the United States has not figured it out yet, it will have to realize before it is too late that the rules of the game have completely changed.”

Chairman Ghalibaf went on to claim, “American leaders, who are in a desperate situation as U.S. military bases are suffering damage from the Iranian military’s powerful blows, are only spouting empty words and slogans, creating fake images and videos using artificial intelligence (AI) to manipulate the battlefield situation.”

He repeatedly emphasized the importance of internal solidarity along with military deterrence.

“The two important tools against the enemy are internal solidarity and external deterrence,” Ghalibaf said. “The supreme leader’s call to be wary of portraying ourselves as weak is a strategic guideline that should be applied to all sectors.”

In addition, Chairman Ghalibaf emphasized that 'economy and people's livelihood' are other major battlefields as much as the military front.

He urged, “Our people, who have stood firm against the bloodthirsty United States, are experiencing economic difficulties such as exchange rate fluctuations and inflation,” and added, “As the enemy strengthens sanctions to paralyze the supply chain and energy sector, we must rely on domestic production to build a barrier to block the greed of foreign powers.”

Earlier, the U.S. Central Command announced that the Iranian attack did not cause any damage to the U.S. Navy ships, saying, "The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired ballistic missiles at two U.S. Navy warships patrolling the sea area and then the U.S. military struck three Iranian crude oil transport ships."

After the ensuing fighting between the United States and Iran, the Revolutionary Guard claimed that it attacked a U.S. surface drone attempting to enter the Strait of Hormuz on the 6th and also attacked a U.S. aircraft carrier and a destroyer with several ballistic missiles.
