GELENDZHIK, October 5 - RIA Novosti. Ensuring demand for bioeconomy products is one of Russia’s urgent tasks in this industry, said First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov.

“An equally urgent task is to ensure demand for bioeconomy products. Here it is necessary to make wider use of the capabilities of the national regime, and in certain areas, import regulation measures. This will allow enterprises to understand the promising market size and make decisions about launching new production,” Manturov said during the Bioprom forum.

According to the First Deputy Prime Minister, the main limitation in the field of bioeconomy today concerns the industrial development of laboratory developments.

“Work in this direction has already been launched. In particular, this year agreements were concluded on the creation of five engineering development centers at universities. It is fundamentally important that each of them is created together with an industrial partner,” Manturov added.

He noted that this will make it possible to solve applied problems of enterprises and quickly implement new technologies.

Earlier, he announced the approval of a strategy for the development of the bioeconomy in Russia until 2036. Its priorities are strengthening the technological base, deep processing of biological resources and expanding the use of biotechnologies in traditional industries.
