Bac Ninh: Prosecuting a group of people impersonating doctors to defraud spa customers

On August 19, Bac Ninh Provincial Police said that the Police Investigation Agency had prosecuted and detained Nguyen Quoc Khanh, 31 years old; Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, 35 years old and 3 employees of the facility: Nguyen Phi Anh, 28 years old; Dao Thi Ut, 39 years old and Nguyen Thi Ha, 30 years old, to investigate the crime of Customer Deception.

Initial investigation results determined that Khanh and Kim Anh set up a business, Sigma care 03 health care center, and asked a friend to name it. In July 2025, Khanh and Kim Anh opened Sigma spa facility on Nguyen Thi Luu street, Bac Giang ward. After that, the two opened another spa called "Royal Luxury" also in this ward but on Ly Tu Trong street.

Both establishments mainly operate slimming services, skin care, physical therapy, and women's intimate care.

The operational organization model is designed to include 5 departments: receptionist, round 1 consultant, technician, "bait", round 2 consultation. In particular, at round 2 consultation, there is a facility for people to pretend to be doctors, experts and doctor's assistants. All form a closed circle to carry out fraudulent scenarios, appropriating customers' money through intensive and advanced treatment packages.

In order to create trust, this group arranged people to pretend to be customers who had used the service to advertise the treatment and service packages. Fake doctors even threaten customers with dangerous medical conditions to cause anxiety and discourage them from using specialized services.

Authorities accused Khanh and Kim Anh of defrauding hundreds of customers with stolen money amounting to billions of dong.
