Details of Minister Fidan's Visit to the UAE

According to information obtained from Ministry of Foreign Affairs sources, Fidan is expected to review the preparations for the second meeting of the High Level Strategic Council between Türkiye and the UAE during the meetings he will hold tomorrow within the scope of his visit.

During the meetings, Fidan is expected to confirm that Turkey is in full solidarity with the UAE, one of the countries most negatively affected by the war in the Gulf, and to point out that external interventions in the region lead to chronic conflicts and that the understanding of regional ownership should be strengthened.

Minister Fidan is expected to emphasize the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab for regional and global stability, and to state that a united Yemen with peace and stability is also of critical importance for the security of the Middle East.

Fidan is expected to express the need to move to the second phase of the Peace Plan in Gaza without delay, to improve the humanitarian situation and to initiate construction activities, and in this context, it is planned to hold consultations on the work of the Peace Board, of which both countries are among the founding members.

It is also expected that Fidan will emphasize the importance of the international community taking a determined and common stance in the face of the attacks of "occupying Israel" in order to preserve and make permanent the ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

Minister Fidan last visited the UAE on March 20.

bilateral relations

There has been a strategic partnership relationship between Türkiye and the UAE since 2023.

The first meeting of the High Level Strategic Council, established between the two countries in 2023, was held in Ankara at the leader level on July 16, 2025.

UAE is the Gulf country that invests the most in Turkey and is Turkey's largest trade partner in the Gulf.

The trade volume between the two countries was recorded as 19 billion 346 million dollars in 2025.
