PISA 2025 Statement from Minister Şimşek: Türkiye Rises in All Fields

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek made statements regarding the PISA 2025 results.

Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated the following in his statement on his virtual media account:

While Türkiye increased its ranking in all areas according to PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) 2025 results, it performed above the OECD average in science and reading skills. Our ranking among 91 countries; It increased 15 places in science, 18 places in reading skills, and 11 places in mathematics.

Türkiye, which increased its score the most in all 3 areas among OECD countries compared to 2022, has become the only OECD member that has continuously increased its performance in all 3 areas in the last 10 years. We allocated the highest share in the 2026 budget to education, with 15.3 percent. We will continue our education policies to further strengthen the quality of our human capital, one of the basic elements of development, and continue to carry forward the gains we have achieved.
