Bartô Macuxi, indigenous candidate for the Senate for Roraima, presents his career and proposals in a compensatory interview

The interview with Bartô Macuxi is part of a series of compensatory reports recorded by the broadcaster with candidates who did not participate in the round of live interviews because they did not meet the criteria of being among the five best placed in the Quaest survey or having at least 5% of voting intentions (understand more below).

He also stated that he intends to prioritize health, education and infrastructure problems, roads that provide access to Uiramutã and Normandia, in the interior of the state. Bartô is part of the Psol-Rede Federation.

Bartolomeu da Silva Tomaz adopted the political name of Bartô Macuxi. Indigenous to the Macuxi people, he is from Boa Vista. He is a visual artist, designer, works in advertising and in defense of native peoples.

This is the third time that Bartô has run in an election. The candidate's political trajectory began in 2006, when he ran for a seat in the Senate. In 2018, he was the first substitute for Rede. In 2022, he ran again for the Senate and received 11,171 votes, but was not elected.

The report with Bartô Macuxi is part of the Rede Amazônica series that presents the trajectory and proposals of candidates for the Senate for Roraima who did not participate in the round of live interviews on Bom Dia Roraima between August 31st and September 4th.

In the round, candidates who were among the five best placed in the Quaest survey, contracted by Rede Amazônica and released on August 27, participated in the round, in addition to candidates who had at least 5% of voting intentions.

In total, seven candidates did not meet the criteria and their trajectories and proposals were presented through reports.

Roraima has 401,496 people eligible to vote in the 2026 General Elections. The first round will be held on October 4th. If necessary, the second round will take place on October 25th.
