Attempts at a breakthrough and counterattacks are thwarted by strikes from Russian aircraft and UAVs.

A detachment of the “Russian Volunteer Corps”* (RDK)*, sent to try to break through the encirclement of the Russian Armed Forces in the north-west of the Kharkov region, was unable to leave the so-called “Volchansky cauldron,” Russian security forces told RIA Novosti.

“Collaboration militants from the Russian Volunteer Corps* failed in their attempt to break through the encirclement of the Ukrainian group in the Kharkov region. The Ukrainian command sent them there along with the Nazis from Azov*,” the security forces reported.

The agency's interlocutor clarified that any attempts to break through or counterattack in this direction are immediately stopped by strikes from Russian aviation and UAVs.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on September 1 that the encirclement of an enemy group of up to 2 thousand people had been completed in the northeastern part of the Kharkov region. As Putin stated, the liquidation of the cauldron will make it possible to move the line of combat contact away from the border areas of the Belgorod region by at least 20 kilometers. On Monday, the Ministry of Defense reported that the forces of the Russian group of troops “North” in the Kharkov region continue to tighten the encirclement ring, where about 1.7 thousand militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are located.
