In the Novgorod region, a payment of one million rubles will be introduced for the fourth child

MOSCOW, September 14 - RIA Novosti. Families in the Novgorod region will receive one million rubles for vital purposes at the birth of their fourth and subsequent child from 2027, Governor Alexander Dronov said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On Monday, Putin met with Dronov, who spoke about expanding support for families with children. According to the governor, the region has significantly increased support for young, student and large families. As a result, more first babies began to be born - in six months of 2026, 647 children were born compared to 623 in 2025. In addition, another measure is being prepared to support the birth rate - the expansion of the Novgorod Family project from 2027, the governor said.

“Each family receives a million rubles for the fourth and each subsequent child, and these funds can be used for vital purposes: improving living conditions, paying for kindergarten, purchasing a car,” Dronov said.

In addition, he added that from 2027 the region will fully compensate families with five or more children for the cost of housing and communal services. It is important that the family’s choice to give birth to a third or fourth child is absolutely logical and supported by appropriate measures of state support, the governor emphasized.
