The Iranian Red Crescent is following up on the file of the captured pilots with the Red Cross

Shaundi said that the Iranian Red Crescent is constantly following up on the pilots’ file, noting that the association has, so far, conducted several correspondences and communications with the International Committee of the Red Cross, whether through the committee’s representative office in Tehran or through the committee’s presidency in Geneva.

The official confirmed that monitoring of the conditions of the captured Iranian pilots is continuing, as part of efforts aimed at determining their fate and conditions.

The Commander of the Missing Persons Search Committee of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Mohammad Bagherzadeh, earlier called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to send an air ambulance to Qatar to transport two Iranian pilots, whom Tehran said were detained there and suffering from serious injuries.

Bagherzadeh called on the Qatari authorities to transfer the two pilots from their detention site at sea to an equipped hospital on land, in order to preserve their safety. At the same time, he welcomed Doha’s initial agreement to receive a team of Iranian experts to examine them and follow up on their health conditions.

He also called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to facilitate the pilots’ communication with their families via video calls, and to make efforts to expedite their release, stressing the need to respect the rights of prisoners in accordance with the Geneva Conventions.
