Begoña Gómez has been summoned to testify by a judge in Majadahonda (Madrid) following a complaint filed against her by ultra agitator Vito Zopellari Quiles, better known as Vito Quiles. Quiles accuses Gómez of having filed a false complaint against him for a crime of assault after an incident that occurred on April 19 in a restaurant in Las Rozas (Madrid). The agitator himself has shared on his social networks an extract of the summons of the wife of the President of the Government as a defendant, reported by El Español and confirmed to this newspaper by legal sources. Gómez will have to testify on October 23.
Pedro Sánchez's wife reported the ultra agitator for having harassed her when she was in a restaurant with a man and two friends. According to La Moncloa sources, Quiles approached her and prevented her from going out into the street. These same sources then assured that Quiles harassed Gómez and his companions inside the premises. This was stated in her complaint, in which, according to the judge in the case, she stressed that the agitator “invaded her private sphere” when she was inside the premises, “aggressively questioning her about matters of a public nature in her capacity as the president's wife and that he would have prevented her from leaving the premises while he recorded her.”
The calls come after Majadahonda judge Sergio Burguillo filed the complaint filed by Gómez on May 30, understanding, after viewing the images provided in the case, that it had not been possible to "prove facts that have criminal relevance," and that "the recordings do not show the reported conduct."
To close the matter, the judge noted the following: “[In the recordings] we can see how, indeed, the accused enters a public premises, with the clear intention of addressing the complainant, addressing a multitude of questions without waiting for answers, but the complainant leaves the premises immediately.” “The viewing that has been provided to this court has not proven that there was such shaking or that he put his arm around the complainant,” he added.
The crime of false reporting has penalties of six months to two years - if it is considered serious - and the condition that the matter that gave rise to the false report has been filed (or there has been a ruling) is final. Both Gómez and the Prosecutor's Office appealed the file to the Provincial Court, which plans to analyze the appeal next Monday.
It is not the first judicial matter in which Quiles has been involved. At the beginning of August, the Prosecutor's Office agreed to report him for an alleged crime of fraud when collecting supposedly charitable donations. Renfe denounced him, also for fraud, for, on at least 17 occasions, having traveled to a destination only buying tickets for a closer station. Furthermore, the secretary of the Facua consumer association, Rubén Sánchez, has a case open against him for insults and slander aggravated by ideological hatred and for which he is requesting nine years in prison. In July he filed a second complaint against him for the same crimes. And, at the beginning of that same month, a judge ordered his arrest for spreading a hoax against a public employee.
