Blizzard made important announcements for the biggest game series as part of BlizzCon 2026. Among the most notable developments of the event were Diablo V, a new StarCraft game, new content for World of Warcraft: Forever, Warcraft III, and comprehensive updates for Overwatch.
Blizzard also announced its new projects to bring game universes to television and digital platforms at this event. The company announced that it is working on a new animated series set in the Diablo universe within the scope of its partnership with Netflix.
Diablo V announced
One of the most notable announcements of BlizzCon 2026 was Diablo V. Blizzard announced the new game of the series and announced that it will be released in the spring of 2029.
The story of Diablo V will tell a world where Sanctuary has now fallen and Diablo has won the war. Unlike previous games, the main goal of players will not be to prevent Diablo from taking over the world. The new game will focus on characters trying to survive in Sanctuary, where evil forces dominate.

Amazon class coming to Diablo IV
Blizzard announced future plans for Diablo IV as well as Diablo V. The Amazon class, known from the Diablo II era of the series, is being brought to Diablo IV. StarCraft is coming back
The new StarCraft will depart significantly from the traditional real-time strategy (RTS) structure of the series. The new game is being developed as an open-world shooter and is scheduled to be released in spring 2030.

Blizzard also made a new trailer for The Last Titan, the last game of the Worldsoul Saga.
The production will be the last part of the great conflict that will determine the future of Azeroth. Blizzard has announced that the story will include a return to Northrend and will bring together numerous events from over 20 years of history of the Warcraft universe.

World of Warcraft: Forever announced
Blizzard describes World of Warcraft: Forever as the third World of Warcraft experience, positioned alongside Modern WoW and WoW Classic.
The game is scheduled to be released on November 4, 2026. The beta process will start on September 17. Players with a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time will be able to access the game.
The biggest announcement on the Hearthstone side was the addition of a new class to the game. Monk will join Hearthstone in March 2027. According to Blizzard, Monk will be the first new playable class added to the game in six years.

Diablo universe is moving to Netflix
Blizzard announced that it is developing a new animated series set in the Diablo universe with Netflix. Details about the project, such as story, cast and release date, have not yet been announced.
