The match

The curse continues: another match at the Dall'Ara without a win for Bologna, who however snatched their first point of the season with a comeback, in full recovery. The regrets lie with Sassuolo, ahead twice with Doig and Adzic and unable to close out the match despite four sensational chances from Laurientè (2), Berardi and Thorstvedt. Regrets also for Aquilani, who removed two of the best in the final, such as Doig and Matic and suffered the return of Bologna, who after Piccoli's momentary 1-1 also reacted to the second external advantage, first coming close to making it 2-2 with Bernardeschi and then finding it with Dovbyk.

The home victory that has been missing since April does not arrive at the rossoblù's home: however, the first two goals from Tedesco's team arrive, which is the only one left without a goal. Sassuolo is better in terms of performance, Bologna is still going in spurts and gusts, but in the meantime they are moving up the table in the face of an opponent with the third useful result after the three points taken with Torino and the passage to the Italian Cup with Frosinone, already square, but not yet ruthless face to face, who widens the diagonal too much. Bologna is all about a couple of long-range shots from Cambiaghi and Bernardeschi, they don't build and they don't attack, Sassuolo on the other hand hurts when they aim: in the 19th minute Bowie defends the ball, finds Adzic who breaks through, serves the overlap of Cinquegrano who crosses low for the onrushing Doig: the external advantage is served. Berardi comes on for Volpato (right thigh flexor injury) and on the 10th he puts in a couple of dangerous crosses, but it's Alhassane who devours the equalizer in the final minutes of the first half.

Tedesco redesigned the midfield during the interval, with Libra and Moro for Odgaard and Pobega and Miranda for Alhassane: the latter's corner led Piccoli to head past Doig to make it 1-1. But Sassuolo responded immediately: Bowie defended the ball, found Adzic on the edge, who burned Heggem and made no mistakes one-on-one with Skorupski. Laurientè and Berardi have the ball to close it but they don't exploit it, Thorstvedt enters and sees the rossoblù goalkeeper's attempt to dig in for a corner. Too many errors in front of goal. Tedesco inserts Dovbyk and deploys a 4-2-2-2, the pressure rises slowly but surely and when Matic comes down it becomes an unstoppable wave: first Dovbyk serves Bernardeschi and Muric is prodigious, then Idzes anticipates Piccoli under control, finally, in the melee, Dovbyk finds the 2-2. Sassuolo already has a balance, Bologna has the heart and nerves to not collapse.
