Bolu Mayor and 6 other suspects were arrested, 8 people were released under judicial control

7 more of the 21 people detained within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command. The procedures of 8 people who were referred to the prosecutor's office yesterday and 7 people who were brought today have been completed.

ANOTHER ARREST ORDER FOR ÖZCAN

7 people, including Mayor Tanju Özcan, who was suspended from duty and detained for another crime, were referred to the court on duty with a request for arrest. The court, Özcan, Deputy Mayor Gülden Özaydın, Deputy Director of Cleaning Affairs Basri Baytekin, Head of Inspection and Acceptance Commission of the Directorate of Cleaning Affairs B.T. It was decided to arrest the owner and two employees of the contractor company. 8 people were released on condition of judicial control. BACKGROUND OF THE INVESTIGATION

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation alleging irregularities in car rental tenders in Bolu Municipality. In this context, a detention order was issued for 22 people, including Deputy Mayor Gülden Özaydın, Deputy Director of Cleaning Affairs Basri Baytekin and other municipal personnel, officials of cleaning companies and contractor company officials, due to the fact that the suspended Mayor Tanju Özcan was detained for another crime.

OVERPAYMENT CLAIMS

In the technical examination, it was stated in the expert report that some garbage collection vehicles were shown as working on days when they were not actually working, and that payments were made to the contractor company on the basis of these records. It was claimed that, within the scope of 19 separate progress payments issued by the Bolu Municipality Cleaning Affairs Directorate, a total of 34 million 288 thousand 376 lira and 61 kuruş overpayment was made to MCY-Yeşilçam Business Partnership, including the price difference and VAT. 14 of the 21 people detained within the scope of the investigation were referred to the courthouse, and 6 of them were released on condition of judicial control after interrogations by the prosecutor's office.
