Burnley signs Jamie Vardy until the end of the season

Burnley announced that it has added 39-year-old experienced striker Jamie Vardy, who recently played for Cremonese, one of the Italian Serie A teams, to its squad until the end of the season.

Burnley Coach Nicky Hayen made the following statement regarding the transfer:

BECAME A CHAMPION WITH LEICESTER CITY

Jamie Vardy, who played for Halifax Town and Fleetwood Town in the early years of his career, was transferred to Leicester City in 2012. The English striker played a leading role in one of the most surprising championships of European football by winning the Premier League with Leicester in the 2015-16 season.

Vardy became the top scorer in the Premier League with 23 goals in the 2019-20 season, becoming the oldest player to achieve this. Scoring 200 goals in 500 games for Leicester, he spent most of his career in the English team.

Vardy, who spent the 2025-26 season in Cremonese in Serie A, scored 7 goals in 29 matches.
