16-year-old student drowns in the Santa Luzia d'Oeste Municipal Bathhouse

Student Armando Gabriel Marcelino Aires, 16 years old, drowned last Saturday (5), in the Balneário Municipal de Santa Luzia d'Oeste (RO). The young man's body was rescued by the Fire Department.

According to the Rolim de Moura (RO) Fire Department, the drowning occurred in the early afternoon. The team was called and, at the scene, witnesses reported that the young man had disappeared in the water for about an hour.

After diving searches, the body was located, but the teenager was already dead. The victim was removed from the water and taken to a municipal vehicle, where the medical team confirmed the death. The cause of the drowning was not reported.

Armando was a resident of Santa Luzia d'Oeste (RO) and attended high school at Escola Estadual Juscelino Kubitschek.

The school's Student Union published a note of condolence on social media lamenting the student's death and expressing solidarity with family, friends, teachers and the entire school community, who are in mourning.

“In this moment of deep sadness, we sympathize with his family, friends, teachers and everyone who had the opportunity to share moments and stories with him”, says the note.
