Witkoff says Russia and Ukraine must make compromises to end the war

(ANSA-AFP) - KIEV, SEPTEMBER 06 - US envoy Steve Witkoff said that both Russia and Ukraine must make "compromises" to end more than four years of war, after having held talks with both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. “It will require both sides to make compromises and narrow the loose ends, and we think we have the ingredients to get there,” Witkoff said after talks with Zelensky. “It is very difficult, but we are committed, we care and we hope that this will lead to a peaceful and successful diplomatic solution.” (ANSA-AFP).
