Heavy rain negatively affected life in Bursa

The downpour that has been effective in the city for two days has negatively affected life. 13.7 kilograms of precipitation per square meter fell in the city center. The amount of rainfall per square meter in Esence District of Mudanya district exceeded 15 kilograms.

While there were floods in the neighborhood, there were people trapped in their homes and hostels. Upon notice, AFAD, Mudanya Search and Rescue (MAK), gendarmerie and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the region.

M.Y., who was trapped in the hostel in Esence District. (53) and A.S. (60) and 2 citizens who were stranded in Yalıçiftlik Mahallesi Kapanca location were rescued by MAK teams. Additionally, an ambulance was directed to the area to transport a disabled citizen residing on 32nd Street to his address in the city center.

Search-rescue, water evacuation and control works were also carried out by BUSKİ General Directorate and Road Maintenance and Repair Branch Directorate teams. According to information received from meteorology; The showers will continue throughout the city.

While heavy rain is expected in the north of the city tomorrow morning, the showers, which will take a break on Thursday, will continue intermittently on Friday and Saturday.
