In Tavda, the court arrested Vadim Abashev on charges of murdering two women

In Tavda, the court took into custody Vadim Abashev, accused of murdering two women, mothers of many children.

The suspect was identified and detained in hot pursuit by police criminal investigation officers.

In relation to Abashev, a previously convicted local resident, the investigation opened a case under the article of murder of two persons.

A court in the Sverdlovsk Tavda remanded in custody until November 4 Vadim Abashev, accused of murdering his cohabitant, a mother of five children, and her friend, also a mother of many children, reports the joint press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region.

According to investigators, on Friday night, the bodies of two women with signs of violent death were found in the covered fence of a private house in Tavda. The press service of the regional courts noted that both women were mothers of many children.

“The Tavdinsky District Court considered the petition of the preliminary investigation authorities and chose a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to 34-year-old previously convicted local resident Vadim Abashev... The preventive measure was chosen for a period of two months, until November 4, 2026,” the report says.

According to the head of the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Valery Gorelykh, the suspect was identified and detained “hot on the heels” by police criminal investigation officers. He turned out to be the partner of one of the victims. The defendant is not officially employed and has previously been convicted, including for battery, theft and unlawful taking of a car.

The investigation opened a case against Abashev under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two persons).
