Dapi Township Office will hold the 2026 Rice Straw Sauerkraut Season event at the Dapi Rotation Ground on October 31. There will be a straw weaving art exhibition, sauerkraut pickling experience, flavor meal tasting, and parent-child fun challenges. This Sunday (25th), there will be a rural experience tour to be the first to register, and registration is open for registration.

Dapi Township is the town with the highest rice cultivation and yield in the country. It is also the place with the highest supply of sauerkraut in the country. It is known as the largest rice town in the country and the hometown of sauerkraut. Lin Senbao, the head of Dapi Township, pointed out that October is the second phase of rice harvesting period. Then farmers will plant mustard in the rice fields and pickle the sauerkraut at the end of the year. If you come to Dapi in autumn and winter, you can enjoy two seasonal landscapes at once.

This year’s rice straw pickled vegetable season event will be launched on October 25 with the rural experience tour, which will lead the public to experience rice transplanting, straw weaving and taste rural-style meals. Through rural experience, they can feel the hard work of farming, rural culture and human touch.

Lin Senbao said that the highlight of the event will be held at the Dapilun Sports Ground under the Yunlin System Interchange of Provincial Highway 78 on October 31. There will be a straw weaving art exhibition with rural imagery, parent-child adventure activities such as scooter racing, straw obstacles, hoops, and canoes, as well as archery experiences, straw hat painting and pickled sauerkraut. A variety of delicious meals will be prepared on site for free tasting by participants.

Lin Senbao said that in addition to various experiential activities, there are also exciting performances, cultural and creative activities, food markets, and cultural and creative gifts. Everyone is welcome to come to Dapi to experience the delicious rice food and the human touch of the countryside.
