A resident of Moscow will appear in court in Buryatia for the murder of an acquaintance for the sake of valuables

In the Republic of Buryatia, a Moscow resident suspected of killing his friend for money and jewelry will appear in court. This was reported by the Republican Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the investigation, in September 2025, the accused invited his friend to vacation in the village of Arshan. There they went for a walk in the mountains together. At some point, he attacked the girl - struck her many times on the head and body, and then strangled her. Afterwards, he stripped her of everything valuable and threw her body into the stormy Kyngyra River.

After the body was carried away by the current, he called rescuers and reported that his companion fell off the suspension bridge and fell into the water, after which she was carried away by the current. Then he returned to the hotel room, from where he stole jewelry and personal belongings of the victim worth one million one hundred thousand rubles.

He did not admit guilt and insists on the version of an accident. However, this version was refuted by experts, and during the investigative actions, some of the victim’s belongings were found in the possession of a friend of the accused in Moscow: a watch with diamonds and earrings. The criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
