3일 연합뉴스 취재를 종합하면 부캉이는 전날 구조작업 당시 설치한 대형 그물을 넘어 하루 만에 수로 안쪽으로 돌아왔다.

부산해양경찰서를 비롯한 관계 당국은 전날 부캉이를 바다로 돌려보내기 위해 친수공원 제4 보도교 인근에 길이 50m, 높이 6.8m의 대형 그물을 펼쳤다.

바다와 가까운 제6 보도교 방향으로 그물을 끌며 부캉이가 수로 밖으로 나가도록 유도했다.

그물이 수로 바닥에 걸린 데다 부캉이가 더 이상 밖으로 나가지 않으려는 모습을 보이자 당국은 수로 출구에서 약 100m 안쪽 지점에 그물을 고정하고 구조작업을 중단했다.

설치된 그물은 부캉이가 다시 수로 안쪽으로 돌아가는 것을 막는 역할을 했다.

그런데 그물 주변을 배회하며 빈틈을 찾던 부캉이는 이날 낮 12시께 결국 그물을 넘어 수로 안쪽으로 돌아왔다.

만조로 수심이 높아지면서 그물 상단에 빈틈이 생겼고, 부캉이가 이 틈을 넘어간 것으로 추정된다.

현재 부캉이는 원래 자주 출몰하던 제4 보도교와 제5 보도교 사이 수로에서 모습을 보이고 있다.

부산시 등 구조 당국은 당분간 부캉이의 움직임을 주시하기로 했다.

인위적인 추가 구조 작업 없이 부캉이가 바다로 스스로 이동할 수 있는지 여부를 관찰하기로 한 것이다.

설치된 그물망도 이날 오후 4시 20분께 부캉이가 외해로 이동할 수 있는 통로를 확보하기 위해 철거했다.

국립수산과학원이 부캉이의 이동 상황과 건강 상태를 계속 확인할 예정이며, 이상행동 등 특이사항이 보이면 관계기관과 추가 대응 방안을 협의할 계획이다.

부산시설공단 등 관계 기관은 연휴 기간 인파가 몰릴 것에 대비해 순찰을 강화하고 있다.

부캉이가 2차 구조작업 이후에도 수로를 떠나지 않으면서 이날도 친수공원에는 많은 시민이 몰려 북새통을 이뤘다.

이날 오후 6시 기준 하루 동안 5만2천명의 시민이 몰렸다. 부캉이가 처음 발견된 이후 이 공원의 누적 방문객은 80만명을 넘어섰다.
