Osnabrück fans dazzled many by raising a giant Tifo during the match against Bayern Munich in the German Football Cup on Wednesday evening, with a moving rollercoaster inside it.
Osnabrück fans designed a real rollercoaster running in one of the stands of the team's stadium before facing the defending champion Bavarian giants.
The fans also raised a sign saying: “Osnabrück is flying high like a roller coaster” as the game moved through the stands, in reference to the club’s ups and downs, as it is currently competing in the second division.
This tifo gave the fans a strong morale boost that helped the team advance with an early goal after 5 minutes, before Bayern Munich responded strongly and won 4-1.
Harry Kane praised; The Bayern Munich star, with a banner from Osnabrück fans, saying: “It is amazing.” “I have already said that football fans in Germany are on another level.”
The English international striker added: “The atmosphere here is great in all the stadiums during and before the matches.”
The European Football Association (UEFA) opened a disciplinary procedure against Fenerbahce's Turkish players Matteo Guendouzi and Mason Greenwood, following last week's tense Champions League play-off second leg against French club Lyon, according to what the Istanbul City Club announced on Thursday.
Fenerbahce wrote in a statement: “UEFA has opened a disciplinary procedure against our players Matteo Guendouzi and Mason Greenwood, as well as against our club.”
The French midfielder Guendouzi, who made an obscene gesture towards the Lyon fans and launched provocations that led to an argument after the match, had confirmed the day after the match: “I did not commit any mistake.”
The former player for French Marseille justified his behavior by saying: “They insulted my mother, my family, and my children,” after a group of Lyon fans targeted him since the warm-up period.
English striker Greenwood, also a former Marseille player, joined Guendouzi in provoking Lyon fans following the match, which Fenerbahce won 2-1, a result that led to the elimination of the French club.
The club added in its statement: “Our club will present the necessary defenses before the competent authorities (...) in order to protect the rights and interests of our players and the Fenerbahce club.”
The German Football Association will hold an extraordinary general assembly on September 18 to transfer responsibility for running the German Women's League (Bundesliga) to the new women's league.
The German Federation explained, in a statement today (Thursday), that it is in the process of making the necessary amendments to the statute and approving the contractual framework for the transfer process during this General Assembly.
The Women's German League was established in late 2025 as an independent body from the German Football Association, following in the footsteps of the Men's Bundesliga, which runs the league championship for the first and second divisions.
The new Women's Football League aims to develop the organizational structures in the Bundesliga and fully manage the women's league as of July 1, 2027.
Last May, the German Football Association and the German Women's Football League reached an agreement on managing financial flows.
