[Reporter Ni Wanjun/Comprehensive Report] Hanhua Eagle announced two major personnel arrangements in one breath today. Not only did it renew the contract of 25-year-old South Korean left-hander Wang Yancheng with a total of US$300,000 (approximately NT$9.55 million), it also officially announced that the current South Korean national team coach Ryu Ji-hyun will take over the team. The two parties signed a three-year contract with a total amount of 2 billion won (approximately NT$48 million).

Wang Yancheng joined Hanwha as an Asian quota player this season. He played in 26 games and pitched 133.2 innings. He posted 11 wins and 6 losses, an ERA of 3.97 and 100 strikeouts. He became a bright spot among the sluggish pitchers. Hanwha announced today that it will renew his contract with a signing bonus of 100,000 US dollars and an annual salary of 200,000 US dollars, for a total of 300,000 US dollars. The team also expects him to continue to occupy an important position in the starting rotation.

Wang Yancheng said that he is very happy to be able to play alongside Hanwha next year. He has learned a lot and accumulated a lot of experience this season. He has also seen his own shortcomings and areas for growth. "I sincerely thank the team for believing in my possibilities and giving me another chance." He also emphasized that next year he will have a greater sense of responsibility and respond to the fans' expectations with a more mature performance.

Hanwha also finalized a new coach on the same day, with Ryu Ji-hyun becoming the 15th head coach in team history. Ryu Ji-hyun was in charge of LG Gemini in 2021 and 2022. This year, he led the South Korean national team to reach the top 8 in the Classic and won the gold medal at the Nagoya Asian Games. Ryu Ji-hyun expressed his gratitude to the team for entrusting him with the important task. In the future, he will use victory as nourishment and strive to lead Hanwha to become a truly strong team.
