World Artificial Intelligence Open Source Competition Concludes in Hangzhou

China News Service, Hangzhou, September 23 (Wang Yifei, Bao Mengni) The World Open Source Artificial Intelligence Competition (GOAI) concluded on the 23rd in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

This competition has four major tracks: New Intelligence Base, Unbounded Applications, Frontier Exploration, and Embodied Future. Among them, the cutting-edge exploration track is set up with algorithmic competition questions and open exploration competition questions, and the embodied future track is set up with universal dual-arm collaborative operation ability test and industrial park all-terrain patrol challenge. The four major tracks form a total of six competition units.

Since its launch in July, GOAI has widely solicited AI innovation projects from global developers, open source contributors, university scientific research teams, enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) teams, scientific research institutions, entrepreneurial teams and AI Builders. It has attracted more than 14,000 developers from 91 countries and regions to sign up, and 70 projects eventually advanced to the finals.

It is reported that the six competition units of the four major tracks will produce the champion, runner-up and third runner-up respectively, and finally the GOAI Grand Prize will be selected.

The champion team "ExpLoop Lab" from the "Frontier Exploration·Open Exploration" competition won the GOAI Grand Prize and a bonus of 1 million yuan for its project "MirrorPeptidizer: DeNovo Mirror Peptide Design Algorithm". This project from China uses a new computational design path to reduce the research threshold in response to the high cost of target protein preparation and scarcity of data in the development of mirror-image peptides. It has also verified the molecular starting point generated by the algorithm through wet experiments, showing a complete link from algorithm innovation to scientific research verification.

Mazan Gilbert, GOAI's global open source partner and executive director of the Agent AI Foundation (AAIF), said that open collaboration can transcend geographical and organizational boundaries and promote the accelerated flow, sharing and reuse of innovative results. Hangzhou and Zhejiang are gathering global AI innovation forces through competitions, industry and community platforms to provide more opportunities for developer exchanges, technology verification and the growth of young talents, and continue to deepen their connection with the global open source ecosystem.
