The United Nations Human Rights Council holds an exhibition themed "Accessibility for All"

During the 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the Permanent Mission of China in Geneva and the United Nations Office at Geneva jointly held an exhibition themed "Accessibility for All" at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on the 15th to comprehensively demonstrate China's vivid practice in building a barrier-free environment.

Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office in Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland, Turk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Valla Kaulle, Director of the United Nations Library and Archives in Geneva, Lu Xiaoguang, Party Secretary of the Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation, and permanent representatives of Cameroon, Ethiopia, Mexico and other countries delivered speeches. More than 300 people, including permanent representatives of various countries and heads of international organizations, attended the event.

Jia Guide said that strengthening the construction of a barrier-free environment is an important manifestation of human rights protection. China implements global governance initiatives and actively promotes the concept of "accessibility for all" on the United Nations platform. On the occasion of the third anniversary of the implementation of the Barrier-free Environment Construction Law, China will once again propose an accessibility resolution at this council to provide new ideas and inject new impetus into barrier-free construction.

Jia Guide said that holding this exhibition is an important measure to implement relevant resolutions and is also a good platform to share experience in barrier-free construction. China is willing to take the first anniversary of the global governance initiative as an opportunity to work with the international community to promote the improvement of global human rights governance and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.

The Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation and other units participated in the exhibition with more than 100 exhibits, demonstrating the vivid practice of "barrier-free for everyone" from the perspectives of science and technology, culture, employment, and the rule of law. Guests learned about and experienced high-tech intelligent assistive devices, viewed paintings by autistic children, handicrafts by disabled craftsmen, etc. The response was enthusiastic.
