The Saudi Foreign Minister discusses in Washington the latest developments in the regional situation and the strengthening of bilateral relations

Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Foreign Minister, discussed with American officials, in Washington, the latest developments in the situation in the region and the efforts made to reach comprehensive and sustainable political solutions to it.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Michael Waltz, in the presence of the US President’s Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos.

During the meeting, aspects of bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States were reviewed, and ways to enhance joint cooperation were discussed, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the situation in the region, and the efforts made to reach comprehensive and sustainable political solutions to them.

Yesterday, the Saudi Foreign Minister discussed with his American counterpart, Marco Rubio, the most prominent developments on the regional and international arenas, most notably the security and political developments in the region, the situation in Yemen, and the efforts made towards them.

During their meeting in Washington, the two ministers discussed the importance of protecting the security of navigation and freedom of transit in international waterways, especially the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, in a way that contributes to the stability of the region and the continuity of the flow of trade and global supply chains.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries regarding issues of common interest, and supporting diplomatic endeavors aimed at addressing regional crises and enhancing security, peace and stability.

From the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan, Ambassador to America, Prince Yazid bin Muhammad Al-Farhan, advisor to the minister for Lebanese affairs, Prince Musab bin Muhammad Al-Farhan, advisor to the minister for political affairs, and Manal Radwan, advisor to the minister and his special envoy for negotiations and peace efforts.
