On the first day after the registration deadline for the nine-in-one election at the end of the year, the election battle has started in New Taipei City, the most populous city in the country! New Taipei City mayoral candidate Su Qiaohui of the Democratic Progressive Party set up a campaign headquarters yesterday. President Lai Ching-te, former President Tsai Ing-wen, and Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai all attended to support the campaign. Su Qiaohui also vowed to polish New Taipei's city brand and transform New Taipei from a satellite of Taipei into a star. KMT candidate for mayor of New Taipei City, Li Sichuan, was also accompanied by Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan of the same party as he swept the streets to solicit votes. The two cities united and supported each other, advocating that the two cities would work together to prosper together.
Registration for the 2026 nine-in-one general election ended the day before yesterday. In the Bailihou election, which is crucial to the local political landscape, 23 candidates have been confirmed to compete for the mayors of six cities and 58 candidates will compete for the mayors of 16 counties. The government and the opposition will go all out in the next three months, and the results will be announced on November 28, the voting day.

Su Qiaohui campaign headquarters established, more than 20,000 people called for New Taipei Huiying
Su Qiaohui held an inauguration meeting of the campaign headquarters in Banqiao District yesterday afternoon. As for the Kuomintang, Li Sichuan, accompanied by Jiang Wanan, yesterday went to Banqiao Temple to pay homage and to sweep the streets in Fude Market. Many enthusiastic supporters rushed forward to shake hands and take photos, and the atmosphere was lively.
Li Sichuan called on New Taipei folks and relatives and friends in Taipei City to vote for the two. In the future, the two cities will work side by side in various fields such as construction, transportation, education, culture and economy to solve citizens' problems and achieve "co-governance, co-prosperity, and co-benefit" between the two countries.
