Singer Chi Dan admitted to initiating the drug use organization in court

Ho Chi Minh City Declaring in court, Nguyen Trung Hieu, aka singer Chi Dan, admitted the crime as stated in the indictment and admitted being the initiator and inviting friends to organize drug use.

On the afternoon of August 20, the jury continued to question the group of defendants in Case VN10, including singer Chi Dan (36 years old), Nguyen Trung Tin (44 years old, Chi Dan's brother) and related people, who were together charged with organizing the illegal use of drugs.

The questioning was brief. Chi Dan admitted the behavior as charged in the indictment and confirmed that he was the initiator of drug use.

According to records, on the morning of November 4, 2024, Chi Dan texted her friend, Hoa Thi Hong (33 years old), to go home to drink in District 4, but was invited to the house on Cong Hoa Street. The male singer and his brother came to visit, then invited the whole group of 7 people to use drugs.

One person in the group used Telegram to order a package of Ketamine and 3 ecstasy pills. Nguyen Trung Tin prepared drugs on a glass plate, used a bank card to mince them, then drew lines for everyone to use.

Investigation results determined that, at around 5:00 a.m., singer Chi Dan invited a group of friends to use more "happy water" drugs. Tin then ordered 2 packages for 7.1 million VND and asked his brother to transfer the payment.

Singer Chi Dan, after receiving 2 packages of Ferrari brand drinks delivered by a motorbike taxi, mixed them with soft drink and drank first. The rest take turns using it.

At 9:00 a.m., the group agreed to buy another half box of Ketamine for 2.5 million VND to continue getting high. However, one of them had to go back to work, so Chi Dan used a little, and Tin brought the rest back and threw it on the street.

Interrogated before, defendant Hong and the people involved confessed their actions and said Chi Dan was the initiator of organizing drug use.

In turn, Nguyen Trung Tin said he did not know who initiated the drug use, and admitted the behavior as charged by the indictment and had no other opinions.

Previously, also this afternoon, the jury questioned model and actress Andrea Aybar Carmona (31 years old, Spanish nationality) and Nguyen Do Truc Phuong (also known as the "Charity Fairy") and related groups. Most of the defendants admitted their actions as stated in the indictment.

The drugs used by artists and celebrities were determined to originate from branches of the VN110 project.

Tomorrow, the trial continues to question the remaining defendants; expected to last until September 19.
