A cluster of trucks has formed at the Kosak checkpoint in the Pavlodar region in northern Kazakhstan on the border with Russia due to a seasonal increase in the transportation of vegetables and fruits, the press service of the Kazakh National Security Committee (KNB) reports.

“Currently, at the Kosak checkpoint (Pavlodar region) on the Kazakh-Russian border there is a congestion of cargo vehicles. The situation is associated with a seasonal increase in the transportation of fruits and vegetables,” the KNB said in a statement.

It is clarified that in order to reduce the waiting time, the checkpoint is operating in an enhanced mode, the necessary measures are being taken, and interaction with local executive bodies has been established.

The National Security Committee asked drivers to take into account the current situation and adjust their routes in advance, choosing alternative directions.

At the same time, the committee noted that international checkpoints “Sharbakty” and “Urlutobe” also operate in the Pavlodar region. In the North Kazakhstan region - “Zhana Zhol”, “Karakoga” and “Kyzyl Zhar”.

In addition, the department reminded that there is an electronic queue system for drivers, which allows them to check the availability of free seats on a certain date and plan in advance the time and place of crossing the border.
