Security cameras record moments before woman is stabbed to death in Feliz Natal (MT)

Images from a security camera show Mirela dos Santos Kaluzny, 28, from Acre, entering a house in Feliz Natal, 536 km from Cuiabá, before being stabbed to death last Sunday (6).

To g1, a cousin of the victim, who asked not to be identified, said that Mirela did not know Carlo Alves Soares, 43, arrested on suspicion of killing her. The young woman had moved from Rio Branco to Feliz Natal about six years ago. She was buried in the city of Mato Grosso last Monday (7) and leaves behind a 6-year-old son.

''We were unable to bring the body to Rio Branco due to the high costs. So we helped her to be veiled and buried there. She has friends there, she knew a lot of people and she has her husband too,'' he explained.

Mirela was at a friend's daughter's birthday and stayed there after a party started. According to the images, the young woman enters the property at around 3:19 am, accompanied by a man.

About seven minutes later, at 3:26 am, one of the men leaves the property alone. Later, at around 3:35 am, a woman appears entering the house. According to the family, it was she who found Mirela dead and asked for help.

According to her cousin, Mirela appeared to be drunk and, at one point, tried to return, but the man pulled her inside.

''She had no relationship with this guy who killed her. She did not know the suspect. She was married. Her husband is a truck driver, he wasn't there and he didn't know them either. In the video you can see that she is drunk and the boy who was at the keyboard puts his hand on her shoulder, she takes it away, but he pulls her back. They acted in bad faith. We believe they took her there to abuse her, but she reacted and there was no time,'' he said.

The case was registered in the early hours of Sunday. According to the Military Police, Carlo was found drunk and hiding in the outside hallway of the house where Mirela was lying bloodied.

He confessed to the police that he had argued with the victim and attacked her with a knife. The weapon was found in the same hallway during the investigation.

The family, however, claims that there was another man involved in the situation. According to the cousin, this suspect, who appears in the images taking Mirela to the house, is on the run.

The cousin also said that the family is still trying to understand how the night of celebration ended with Mirela's death. According to her, everything happened in a few minutes.

"Nobody looked for her. Nobody missed her. But it was a matter of minutes, you know? Very quickly. Then, when they heard, they called the police. When the ambulance arrived, she was already lifeless. She didn't even have time to have a second chance," he lamented.

Mirela left Acre after her mother's death, looking for new opportunities. She worked in a restaurant, where she made food.

According to the family, the young woman did not usually share many details about her own life. The cousin described Mirela as a happy, smiling and independent person.

"She was always very happy. A person we could count on. Very helpful. She went after her little things to have her own life and this happened. It's been a while since she came here [Acre]", he said.
