Truck is destroyed and driver dies in accident with truck on BR-285, in the North of RS

The head-on collision happened around 9:50 am, at kilometer 217 of the highway, a stretch that is in the urban area of ​​the municipality.

According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the Chevrolet D-20 pickup truck was traveling in the direction of Passo Fundo-Lagoa Vermelha, while the trailer with trunk cargo was traveling in the opposite direction.

With the impact of the crash, both vehicles left the road. The driver of the truck, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene. The victim's name was not released. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Despite the accident, traffic on the highway did not need to be stopped. A forensic examination of the scene was requested and the circumstances of the collision will be investigated.
