Çamlıhemşin Tunnel and Bridges Will Be Opened on Monday

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made statements about the works carried out on the route starting from the Pazar - Ardeşen junction of the Black Sea Coastal Road, passing through Çamlıhemşin district center and reaching Ayder.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that the 955-meter-long Çamlıhemşin Tunnel, which was completed within the scope of the 36.5-kilometer Pazar - Ardeşen Ayrım - Çamlıhemşin - Ayder Provincial Road, and the 2-kilometer section covering the Fırtına Creek and Hala Creek-1 bridges will be put into service on Monday.

Stating that Pazar-Ardeşen Ayrım-Çamlıhemşin-Ayder Provincial Road is an important route for regional tourism, Uraloğlu said, "Our Ayder Plateau hosts more than one million visitors every year. With the development of both winter and plateau tourism, the traffic density on the route has increased. By adding lanes to the existing road, we increase the capacity of the road and provide faster, safer and more comfortable transportation to our citizens." he said.

Uraloğlu noted that within the scope of the project, the first 5.5 kilometers were built as a 4-lane divided road standard with bituminous hot mixture coating, and the following sections were built with a platform width of 12 meters and climbing lanes.
