Camponogara makes noise for Tania Terrin: 300 people come to remember the 39-year-old who was killed

"We make noise because silence protects those who do harm. We network because only together can we protect those in need. Friends, sisters, classmates, acquaintances... we report". Some with whistles, some with keys, some simply furiously stamping their feet on the steel platform already ready for the Assumption Festival: 300 this evening in Camponogara, in the Venetian area, made noise in memory of Tania Terrin, the 39-year-old killed by her ex-boyfriend Dino Keber who then took his own life.

The dynamics of the feminicide will be ascertained by the autopsy, scheduled for tomorrow, and the judiciary will take its course, but in the meantime the community (about 13 thousand inhabitants) is deeply shaken: yesterday people of all ages accepted the invitation of the deputy mayor, with responsibility for Equal Opportunities, Vania Trolese and of the 'Riviera Donna' association with which Terrin had been in contact. In fact, his name appeared in the WhatsApp chat.

"We offer a shoulder, an opportunity to go out together and through these moments we get closer to women, who confide in each other - said president Chiara Boscaro -. I tell them not to be discouraged by these mournful events because they have the right to regain control of their lives".

Much has been done in terms of prevention, but much remains to be done: "A phenomenon that is spreading, we must intervene in a different way - explained mayor Antonio Fusato - starting from schools. As the Conference of Mayors of the Riviera we will meet as soon as possible after the holidays to discuss it".

The Mira anti-violence desk, which welcomes women victims of violence from the Riviera municipalities, took on 39 new cases from January to July. About a hundred women were followed.
