Candidates for the DF government present proposals for transport, health and education in hearings and interviews

During the agenda, representatives spoke again about public transport initiatives, with emphasis on the expansion of the subway and the implementation of Light Rail Vehicles (VLT).

Celina Leão (PP)

Re-election candidate Celina Leão (PP) held a press conference to present the technical feasibility studies for Line 2 of the Metro and lines 1 and 3 of the VLT.

According to the governor, if implemented, the three projects represent 119 km more of tracks in the DF. The value is four times the current length, 42 km.

Celina explained that the new line leaves Gama, passes through EPNB, the Asa Sul terminal and arrives at Eixo Monumental and Praça dos Três Poderes. The forecast is to transport 240 thousand passengers per day.

Line 1 of the VLT leaves the Airport, passes through W3 South and North and reaches the Northwest. Line 3 connects Sol Nascente and Ceilândia to Taguatinga.

According to her, in addition to transporting thousands of passengers per day, the objective is to requalify areas that are currently depreciated. Celina also highlighted the impact on property appreciation.

"With planning and political decisions, you can get structuring projects like this off the ground. I have no doubt that the requalification between Ceilândia and Taguatinga and the requalification between W3 North and W3 South with VLTs will change the face of these regions. Everywhere the VLT arrives, you bring urban requalification", he stated.

José Roberto Arruda, candidate for the PSD, fulfilled his first commitment of the day in a hearing on a radio station, on Asa Sul.

During the interview, he was asked about BRB and replied that he does not intend to privatize Banco de Brasília. Arruda said that, if elected, he will close BRB agencies outside Brasília, in addition to reducing sponsorships.

In education, the former governor defended full-time teaching, with students at school from seven in the morning to five in the afternoon. In addition to more classes, students would have more meals at school, ensuring their food security.

The candidate also highlighted works to improve traffic.

"Build the fourth bridge there at [height of] 28 to go up with BRT to Jardim Botânico, Mangueiral and São Sebastião and, on the left side, Itapoã, Paranoá, Sobradinho and Planaltina. For this, of course, we will also have to duplicate the Paranoá bridge, carry out an audit of the bus companies and remunerate through bidding per passenger transported", he declared.

Samara Mineiro (UP)

The Popular Unity candidate for the DF government, Samara Mineiro, started the day in Sobradinho, close to the Regional Hospital. She spoke to residents and handed out pamphlets with campaign proposals.

Professor Samara said that, if elected, she will prioritize solving problems in health and public transport. Among the measures, she highlighted the hiring of 15 thousand health professionals to reduce waiting times for appointments with specialists.

The UP representative also proposed reducing transfers to private companies, strengthening a state-owned company.

"Our proposal is that, instead of passing on the R$ 2 billion that we have been passing on to private companies, we strengthen TCB to transform it into a large public transport company with the participation of users. So that the schedule of the lines can be decided, which lines should be created and what the priorities are in public transport, strengthening quality public transport".

The candidate highlighted that, if elected, she will hire more employees, so that citizens have guaranteed rights in the areas of education, mental health and social assistance.

Leandro Grass (PT)

Leandro Grass, PT's candidate for governor of the DF, started the day with leafleting in front of the UnB University Restaurant.

To university students, the candidate said he will expand the Zero Tariff program, with free tickets for students every day of the week.

The candidate also said that he will reinforce bus lines, especially in connections between the administrative regions and the university. He also proposed a partnership between UnB and the government for investments in research and innovation, expanding first job opportunities.

Regarding security, Grass said he wants to use technology and promote the appreciation of the Military Police, in addition to the integration of the police with the Fire Department.

"Ensure the increase in this policing, this control of public roads, squares, with technological monitoring. Mainly reporting channels for any type of crime, especially feminicide, which has increased a lot in the DF. We will create protocols to combat feminicide, expand women's police stations and guarantee women the possibility of reporting and having the protection of the State", he stated.

Grass also highlighted the construction of housing for homeless people.

Paula Belmonte (PSDB)

Candidate Paula Belmonte (PSDB) was on TV Globo, where she participated in the DF1 series of interviews with GDF candidates. This is the third of four hearings with government representatives.

In the afternoon, the deputy went to the center of Ceilândia. She met supporters, talked to traders and joined a motorcade through the streets of the region.

The PSDB candidate promised, if elected, to invest in policies for women, including professional training, instruments to combat domestic violence and support for atypical mothers.

Belmonte also spoke about the importance of small entrepreneurs for the economy and stated that he will work to ensure that they have legal security and easier credit. In health, the candidate defended strengthening basic care and building a second public hospital in Ceilândia.

"Our commitment to building the second hospital is fundamental for this city. In addition to what we can bring, yes, hiring doctors, nurses and ACS [community health agents], because these are the people who are in the population's homes seeing the need. In our government plan, we will strengthen the UBSs, which are primary care", he highlighted.

Professor Robson (PSTU)

Candidate Professor Robson (PSTU) participated in an action by Caixa Econômica Federal employees, who are on strike. During the event, in the South Local Government Sector, he handed out pamphlets and took the opportunity to present campaign proposals.

Robson said that, if elected, he will transfer control of Banco de Brasília to workers and users. It also proposed internal elections to choose the president and the BRB Board of Directors.

The proposal also applies to the management of other areas, such as education and public health. He also stated that, in his eventual government, health will be managed by popular councils.

"We have to preserve health to ensure that the population is truly served. We want to build popular councils to manage hospitals, UPAs and UBSs to ensure that the population is served without dying in line. We want to improve education, taking advantage of the experience of democratic management that already exists in public education, expanding it", he highlighted.

Professor Robson also defended elections for secretaries of State and regional education coordinations.
