Carlos Alcaraz defeats Tommy Paul and advances to the US Open quarterfinals after wrist injury

Carlos Alcaraz once again delighted the New York public with a new exhibition to enter the quarterfinals of the US Open, after beating local hero Tommy Paul in three sets, 4-6, 3-6 and 4-6. The Murcian, with more doubts than certainties, reappeared in the last Grand Slam of the season after more than four months off the courts due to a serious wrist injury.

Nobody considered the Murcian a favorite in this edition, especially if we focus on the supposedly poor pace of competition with which he landed on American territory. However, before Paul, he made the opposite clear and presented his candidacy through the front door.

Of course, no one said it would be easy: in the first invite, both were aware of the high pace that they would print from the first moment and they did not fail their date with the show.
