Seo Wang-jin, elected as Chairman of the Jeollanam-do Gwangju Unified City Party of the Fatherland Innovation Party

(Jeonnam Gwangju = Yonhap News) Reporter Park Cheol-hong = Rep. Seo Wang-jin was elected as the first city party chairman of the Fatherland Innovation Party and Jeonnam Gwangju Unified City Party on the 22nd.

The Innovation Party Jeonnam Gwangju City Party held a party convention at the Gwangju Music Industry Promotion Center on this day and elected Rep. Seo, who ran as the sole candidate, as the first chairman with 97% of the votes.

Attending the party meeting on this day were central party leaders, including party leader Shin Jang-sik, Jangheung County Governor Sasun-moon, local council members, regional committee chairs, and party members.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman Seo said, "We will make a major transition to a 'party member-sovereign city party' where party members' ideas become policies and the voices of party members become the standard for operating the city party."

He pledged to establish the 'Namdo Innovation Policy Research Institute' to discover future visions for the region and life-friendly policies, and to operate the 'Innovation Academy' to strengthen the capabilities of party members, while also revitalizing the 27 local committees of cities, counties, and districts in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do and fostering local talent.

In addition, he officially proposed cooperation and coexistence for regional development beyond the boundaries of political parties to Jeonnam Gwangju Unified Special Mayor Min Hyeong-bae and Jeonnam Gwangju City Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea And Do-geol.

In the future, the Unified City Party plans to pursue major tasks such as responding to regional extinction, promoting national mega projects such as the Honam semiconductor project, recovering the people's livelihood, and balanced regional development through administrative integration.

Meanwhile, Shin Jang-sik, along with the Innovation Party's People's Life Cavalry, visited Malbau Market in Buk-gu, Gwangju, Jeollanam-do and said, "We will go beyond the Democratic Party's one-party monopoly and establish ourselves as a clear alternative political force that Honam residents can trust and choose."

Representative Shin also proposed a plan to "increase the political competitiveness of the Honam region and, starting with the Chuseok holiday, unveil the first group of candidates from the Honam region who will run in the next general election by the end of the year at the latest."
