Barcelona footballer Rafinha clashes with his father over financial issues

Earlier, the media reported that Rafinha could leave Barcelona in the summer transfer window and move to one of the Saudi Arabian championship clubs for a higher salary to “solve financial problems.”

According to the source, the conflict over finances began in 2022 after the football player transferred from English Leeds to Barcelona with a significant increase in wages. After moving to Spain, Rafinha and his wife became interested in buying a mansion worth about 10 million euros, but after doing the calculations, the football player’s wife found out that he did not have enough funds to purchase this property.

Curious about the reasons for the lack of funds, the player's wife found out that about 80% of the income from advertising contracts was received by the footballer's father Rafael Belloli, while the player himself took about 20%. Also, a significant part of the football player’s salary was also transferred to the accounts of his father, who managed his son’s affairs. The situation that occurred aroused the indignation of the athlete’s wife and led to a review of the financial relationship between father and son, which led to tension and confrontation between the parties. Amid the incident, Rafinha ended his business relationship with his father.

According to the portal, Rafinha is not considering the option of leaving for the Saudi Arabian championship, despite the high salaries in the league. In the summer transfer window, as noted, the striker and Barcelona management rejected offers from Saudi Arabia.
