Siberia and the Far East are preparing for a sharp deterioration in weather

In the coming days, the regions of Siberia and the Far East will be hit by heavy rains with thunderstorms, night frosts, and strong winds. Marina Makarova, a leading specialist at the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, warned residents of these parts of Russia about the bad weather, TASS reports.

Thus, unstable weather with heavy rains and thunderstorms will arrive in Khakassia and the Altai Republic. "In the Tomsk region, there will be heavy rain and thunderstorms in the north; in the central and southern districts of the Krasnoyarsk territory, there will be heavy and very heavy rains, large hail, winds of 15-20 meters per second, and frosts in the central and southern districts down to minus 3 degrees," the forecaster added.

Similar weather will be established in the Irkutsk region—the region will experience heavy rains with thunderstorms, and wind speeds will reach 25 meters per second. In the Lake Baikal area, gusts will intensify up to 35 meters per second, Makarova specified.

Heavy rains will also hit the Far East, and frosts with air temperatures dropping to minus 5 degrees Celsius are expected in northeastern Yakutia. "In the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, on the eastern coast, there is also heavy rain and winds of 17-20 meters per second. Strong winds of up to 25 meters per second are also forecasted in the north of the Kuril ridge, as well as in the coastal areas of the Kamchatka territory," the meteorologist concluded.
