Doosan begins expansion of CCL production line in China... Investment agreement with Changshu City

Doosan Corporation is expanding its copper clad laminate (CCL) production line in China in response to demand for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

Doosan Corporation announced on the 6th that it signed an investment agreement with Changshu City at Suzhou City Hall in Jiangsu Province, China on the 5th to build a CCL production line.

This agreement is aimed at implementing the Chinese portion (approximately KRW 550 billion) of the approximately KRW 970 billion investment plan announced by Doosan Corporation last September.

Doosan Corporation plans to build a new production line on a site of approximately 185,000 m2 (56,000 pyeong) near the existing Changsu plant and execute investment in stages until 2028.

The new line will be operated sequentially from the second half of 2028. Changshu City decided to support the administrative procedures necessary for the future operation process, including project approval/reporting and licensing procedures, to ensure that the project proceeds smoothly.

Doosan Corporation expected that it would be able to utilize the experience, manpower, and infrastructure it has accumulated while operating the CCL plant in Changshu City since 2012 for the new line.

CCL is a core material for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and is widely used in AI accelerators, network switches, and optical modules used in AI data centers.
