[Reporter Wang Yihong/Report from Taipei] Evergreen (2603), a container shipping company, benefited from the revenue in September hitting its highest level in more than two years and the fourth quarter revenue is expected to increase quarterly. The stock price jumped sharply today. As of 9:25, the stock price rose to 254 yuan, up 21.5 yuan, or 9.25%, with a trading volume of more than 16,000 contracts.

In September, Evergreen was driven by the shipment surge before the Chinese National Day holiday. In addition, the weather conditions improved from the previous month, the overall cargo load increased, and freight rates also remained relatively high. The single-month consolidated revenue was 49.711 billion yuan, a monthly increase of 1.48%, and an annual increase of 63.75%, a record high in September 2024 and 25 months; the cumulative consolidated revenue from January to September this year was 338.449 billion yuan, an annual increase of 15.36%.

Evergreen recently pointed out at a conference that it is currently observing the booking situation and is very optimistic about the cargo load before November. In December, there will be a rush of goods before the Lunar New Year. Therefore, it is expected that the revenue in the fourth quarter will increase compared with the same period last year. "For the US line, there is no reason to be pessimistic before the Lunar New Year."

Market participants pointed out that Evergreen’s consolidated revenue in the third quarter was 146.776 billion yuan, a quarterly increase of 39.58%, and it is expected that profits in the third quarter will be expected.

Foreign investors sold 2,052 Evergreen contracts last Friday, a 2-consecutive selling streak, and investors bought more than 235 Evergreen contracts, a 3-consecutive buying streak. In total, the three major legal entities sold a total of 1,507 contracts.
