At the ceremony of bringing the relics, the Chairman of the Synodal Department for Interaction with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk said that the relics would be permanently located in the main church of the Russian Armed Forces and from time to time visit military units, including in the special operation zone. He noted that one of the parts of the relics was taken from the right hand of the Grand Duke, with which he held his sword in battle.

As the Russian Ministry of Defense told reporters, the ark was made with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.

After the bringing of the ark, a prayer service took place, it was led by the Metropolitan of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, as well as military priests studying at the military spiritual and educational center of the Military University named after Prince Alexander Nevsky of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Earlier, the miraculous Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God arrived at the temple. She is revered as the patroness of the Russian army and defender of the Fatherland. The Tikhvin icon appeared in Rus' three years after the Battle of Kulikovo in 1380, when the troops of Dmitry Donskoy won a historic victory over the horde of Mamai.

Patriarch Kirill said on Wednesday that the rediscovery of the relics of Dmitry Donskoy after centuries of wars and revolution is a special sign of God's Providence, an encouraging sign of spiritual support and consolation.
