CHP and NEW Party are evaluating a joint candidate strategy against the People's Alliance

If there is no change at the last minute, the People's Alliance bloc formed by the AK Party and MHP and the CHP will enter the election, in which the CHP and its NEW Party members have decided to act together, with a potential of 21 votes each. In the first two rounds of voting, a two-thirds majority will be required, and in the third round, an absolute majority will be required. In the last round, where the two candidates with the most votes will compete, the member with the most votes will become the deputy chairman. In case of equality of votes, the vice president will be determined by drawing lots. Before the critical vote, CHP considered the formula of one of the detained council members resigning and being replaced by a name from the reserves in order to break the tie. In this context, it was rumored behind the scenes that detained municipal council member Amine Cansu Çelik would resign. However, it was claimed that Çelik did not want to resign. Thereupon, the formula was not implemented.
