Christian Eriksen terminated his contract with Wolfsburg

Nearly four months after he collapsed on the pitch for the second time in his career, Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen has agreed to terminate his contract with German football club Wolfsburg.

In the statement made by the club, it was said: "Christian Eriksen's time in Wolfsburg has ended. Eriksen, who played a record number of appearances in the Danish national team, agreed to mutually terminate his contract, which is valid until June 30, 2027, ahead of schedule."

34-year-old Eriksen, whose views were included in the statement, said, "It is important for me to be close to my family in Denmark right now. I am happy that we were able to find a solution together. My time at Wolfsburg has gone through many ups and downs. I know that the club is now in good hands as it aims to return to the Bundesliga."

HE FAILED TWICE ON THE FIELD

Last June, Denmark's friendly match against Ukraine was abandoned in the 65th minute after Eriksen collapsed clutching his chest.

The Danish football player collapsed in the match against Finland in the 2020 European Football Championship and received emergency intervention on the field for 13 minutes. After it was determined that he had a heart attack, a defibrillator (shock device) was used for the player who received heart massage.
