National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife left Hanoi and went on an official visit to Korea and Mongolia.

The visit of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife took place on September 6-11 at the invitation of Korean National Assembly Chairman Cho Jeong-sik and his wife, and Mongolian National Assembly Chairman Sandag Byambatsogt and his wife.

Joining the delegation were Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung; Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; General Secretary of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh; Chairman of the National Assembly's National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee Le Tan Toi; Chairman of the National Assembly's Science, Technology and Environment Committee and many officials, according to VNA.

The visit affirms that Vietnam attaches great importance and wishes to continue to develop the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership to become more and more substantial, effective and long-term sustainable.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man's official visit to the two countries also demonstrated the important role of the parliamentary channel in Vietnam's overall foreign relations with Korea and Mongolia.

Vietnam and South Korea established diplomatic relations on December 22, 1992. In December 2022, the two countries established a comprehensive strategic partnership framework. The relationship between the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Korea has developed strongly and substantially, achieving many new achievements, making an important contribution to deepening the relationship between the two countries.

Korea is currently the number 2 investment partner; tourist supply market No. 2; ODA supplier No. 2; trading partner number 3; Vietnam's No. 3 labor receiving market.

By the end of 2025, there will be about 352,000 Vietnamese people in Korea, an increase of 30,000 people compared to the same period in 2024; over 100,000 international students and 100,000 workers; About 100,000 Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families, the rest are in investment cooperation, family visits, short-term work...

Descendants of the Ly Hoa Son and Ly Tinh Thien families are estimated to be about 1,000 people; There are about 200,000 Koreans living and doing business in Vietnam, including about 10,000 businesses.

Vietnam and Mongolia have had a very early traditional friendship, establishing diplomatic relations on November 17, 1954 and regularly helping and supporting each other. Mongolia considers Vietnam to be the most important comprehensive partner in Southeast Asia.

The two sides established the "Vietnam - Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership" relationship on the occasion of the state visit to Mongolia by General Secretary and President To Lam in September 2024.

The cooperative relationship between the two parliaments continues to be maintained; Exchange of delegations and contact with legislative channels are promoted. The two sides signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two parliaments; agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two legislative bodies.

In 2025, bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and Mongolia will reach more than 155 million USD, of which Vietnam's export turnover will reach over 100 million USD. A number of Vietnamese enterprises have been implementing large-scale investment projects in the energy sector; Vietnamese community of nearly 1,000 people, mainly investing and operating in the fields of paint and automobile mounds, trade, and tourism services in Mongolia.
