Yogesh's classmate and another friend rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The assailants fled immediately after the attack. Police arrested four people, including Manoj, 19. Three of those arrested are 17-year-old juveniles and were sent to the state juvenile home, while Manoj was taken into police custody.
