Elderly spouses found dead in Rovigo, investigation opened for manslaughter

The Rovigo prosecutor's office has opened a case for manslaughter on the death of the spouses Arrigo and Lina Greggio, pensioners aged 95 and 94 who were found dead last Tuesday in their home in the hamlet of Mardimago. According to a note signed by the prosecutor Manuela Fasolato, the investigation is currently being carried out by unknown persons.

The alarm was raised on the morning of August 11th by the couple's caregiver, who reported to the police that she had found the elderly people both dead upon her arrival in the house. No marks were found on the bodies of the husband and wife and the firefighters ruled out any gas or carbon monoxide leaks. Only the autopsy, already ordered for both, will be able to clarify the causes of death. The house, in which the agents of the Flying Squad of the Rovigo police headquarters and the forensic team intervened, was seized for all the necessary investigations.
